Reasons I’m looking forward to this week

Ready, set . . .

You may remember that last week started with my 7 Perfectly pathetic goals, and I am proud to announce that I get to check each one off the list!

Now I’m really glad to be starting a fresh week. Not that last week wasn’t great because it was. I’m just feeling the blogathon burnout in a big way right now. I can’t think of anything funny at all. A rabbi, a priest, and a cowboy could walk into an abstinence convention, and I would have nothing entertaining to say about it. My brain has checked out, and I’m not sure it’s planning to come back before the end of May. Don’t be surprised if you find a spaetzle recipe next time you visit.

Still, this week has a lot fun stuff going on, and I’m eager to get started:

  • I haveĀ  a totally creepy guest writer coming in a couple days. No, you’re going to love her. She is enthusiastic and fun and smart, and I am so glad to know her. Nonetheless, I gag a little when I think about her post.
  • Also, Mr. R will be back to ’splain his role in the Great Toothbrush Incident of 1996, or as my friendĀ  Tracy called it, “the most sordid tale of betrayal and filth and golf clubs since Tiger Woods.”
  • We have a telephone appointment with a loan officer on Wednesday night to continue talking about moving and mortgages. Will we rent out this house or price it low enough to sell when we buy our next house? This makes me want to shit myself, but in the totally good way.
  • My second-grader’s music performance is Thursday. He is going to be adorable, not that I am in any way moved by that sort of thing. <sniff> Shut up, I have allergies.
  • This is the last full week of the blogathon! I love it and all, but good Christ, is it ever going to end?
  • After that, there’s just one more week of school. I’m glad for this as a sub and as a parent. Here’s to mojitos in the morning!

After seeing Bridesmaids last night, “I’m going to shit myself” really has taken on a whole new meaning, so your post made me laugh. Best of luck with our last Blogathon week. I will have a drink with my last post, but I’ll be sad to see it end. I hope the friendships we have formed will continue!

Tia, let me know when you’re feeling really, really sentimental. That would probably be a good time to ask you to guest on my blog sometime in June or July! In the meantime, I think I’m going to have to read your book.

Oh my God! This is flipping fantastic stuff! I love this Blogathon and all, but I haven’t had time to read many others because I’ve barely clocked in before midnight each day. I love your blog and can hardly wait to read about the toothbrush incident. I also love spaetzle, so bring it.

Since I didn’t do the blogathon, the month has gone by too quickly. Seems like you just got started. I would love a spaetzle recipe, pretty please with a cherry on top.

Man, do I hear you on the blogathon burnout! It was all I could do to vaguely plan out the first 2 weeks–there was no way I could map out a whole month, and now, of course, I am paying for it. I’ve been a bad reader and commenter as well. Ah well–it’s unlikely I’m going to improve in the next week, but now that we’ve come this far, I would feel like a total wuss for quitting, so march (blog) on I will.
