About me
My name is Tara. I live with my husband and two elementary-age sons in Northeast Ohio, where I spend my time hanging out with my family, dreaming of moving, trying not to swear, and substitute teaching. They’re all interrelated, and it’s hard to say what is cause and what is effect. Chickens and eggs everywhere on that one.
You know, like in this:
You’ll be singing that all day now. You’re welcome.
Anyway, I decided to get a degree in journalism many years ago, but it just didn’t take. The other students were nice and all, but they were also ambitious, somewhat aggressive, and always wanting to scoop something. In time I graduated, worked a few editing jobs here and there, wrote the occasional freelance article, but never did anything beyond that. A few months ago I found my college diploma closed up in a plastic bin with some quilt batting and craft materials. If that doesn’t tell the story, I don’t know what does.
At some point in my childhood I heard someone say, “That man couldn’t find his ass with two hands and a roadmap.” It was probably my dad (I mean my dad said it, not that he was the person who couldn’t find it), and I thought it was hilarious. The more I try to move forward with my life, the more I feel that phrase really describes me. I hope you enjoy looking around.

Tara, I’m so glad you got this up!! Every person’s blog I go to the first thing I do is read about who they are. It helps me form a picture in my mind when I’m reading their stuff. I have to say, I looked twice on this site for your About Me, and am so glad there is finally information here! I adore your sense of humor and love the story behind the pun-y blog title. I’m looking forward to tuning in and reading more about your life. I LOVE that your diploma was in the craft bin in the attic. Awesome!
I started off going for a journalism degree, also many years ago. One day, I realized that I hated getting into people’s faces with dumb questions about matters that really were none of anybody’s businesses. Looking forward to reading more of you.
I know, I really took to long to write it. Thanks so much for the kind words too.
“…dumb matters that really were none of anybody’s business.” Amen!

One of my cousins, a true philosopher, noted that for him it’s eggs in the morning and chicken at dinner.
